About Rob Hicks
Rob Hicks is a Consultant Surgeon based in Northampton. He trained at St Thomas’ Hospital Medical School and Charing Cross Hospital in London.
In 1993/4 he was a Lecturer in Surgery at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School. In 1999, he spent one year in Adelaide, South Australia working at Flinders Medical Centre and the Repatriation Hospital.
He was appointed Consultant General and Vascular Surgeon at Northampton General Hospital in 2000. His time is now between busy NHS and private practices at Northampton General Hospital and the Three Shires Hospital. He has held many senior management roles, including Deputy Medical Director, Clinical Director for Surgery and is now the Lead for the Northamptonshire Vascular Service. He is also the Clinical Chair for the Three Shires Hospital.
His surgical practice is now focused on all types of hernia and Vascular surgery.
He has extensive experience in all types of hernia repair, particularly mesh repair under local anaesthetic and laparoscopic mesh repair. He has treated many sportsmen and women, of wide-ranging sporting abilities from casual amateurs to professional athletes
